In this episode of At Home, Greta Eskridge leads the discussion on “The Myth of the Perfect Mom”. This is something many of us moms struggle with as we try to be and do everything for our families. It can be overwhelming and defeating, and we’re hoping our discussion will offer some hope to any mom who feels the weight of this burden.
Our discussion started with what we imagine when we think of the perfect mom. We realized that each of us has a different picture of the perfect mom because it is our own insecurities that feed that image. That led to the idea that striving to better ourselves isn’t necessarily bad, as long as our motivations are coming from the right place. But if they’re not, letting go of them can be very freeing.
In the end, if that’s the root of our struggle, we need to let go of perfection and hold onto grace.
And that is our hope for all of you mamas who are walking through this very thing today. That you’ll cling to God and His strength in your journey through motherhood. His grace is sufficient for you!
Thank you for listening today!
